Hello,
I am using a program called CET Commercial Interiors that is used to specify furniture. The program has an extension that allows me to export furniture into Revit. The process is similar to how one would bring in a 3D CAD block into Revit. I can go into object styles and change the materials of the imported furniture/object. However, the material I choose to apply appears as lines in some instances (the color is correct but it is clearly not the material). I've had this problem when bringing in some 3D CAD blocks as well. I am not sure how to fix the issue. I included a screenshot and the file.
Thank you.
I can think of several reasons/fixes. I would have to see your RVT to know exactly. You're welcome to post it.
Hi @alexisn39CNC,
I'd recommend trying "Paint" command under the "Modify" tab on that broken surface. If it wouldn't work, please post it in here.

I attached the file if you want to take a look.
Thank you.
I could rebuild all these components from scratch in Revit quicker and easier. Sometimes you got pick your battles. This isn't one I'd fight. Just saying. ![]()
Hey @alexisn39CNC I'd recommend that instead of using that addin, you might want to give a shot exporting it as .dxf, .fbx, .skp, .obj or .ifc file from CET. Add that exported object into a Furniture.rft model or that furniture family, then assign that material using the same config you used. If it would still give the deflected texture on those surfaces, please post it in here so we would know recreating might be the only option.
Yeah it would probably be better to rebuild. I think you can bring in those family components individually (there is an extension you can download directly from the Knoll website with the whole catalog). I'm at a MillerKnoll dealership, and like I said, we use a program called CET Commercial Interiors, and it's a lot easier building these furniture systems in that particular program since things kind of just snap together. So we have the 3D models built in that program, but a lot of clients want Revit files. I was just trying to avoid building it again, but this time in Revit. I'll send them what I have and see if they can figure it out. Thanks for trying to help.
I still got the same outcome. It does look like recreating it would be the best option. I will send it to my client as is and see if they can work with it. Thanks for trying to help. ![]()
