Material Properties (Transparency)

I have a problem.I'd like to make a grid on curtain wall panels and than I create a material with the surface pattern "Grid" and 100% Transparency. The problem is when I make Elevation views sometimes it works well but sometimes it doesn't. The same difficulty appears when I print my sheets in pdf. It will be very helpfull to find the solution.

Hi, 

I think your view visual style is different in these two files. Try to put both on Shaded not Hidden Line.

Hi @Anonymous, how did you manage to make the surface pattern transparent?

Mine is neither on Shaded nor on Hidden Line, I know how to make a Pattern Fill transparent/opaque, but couldn't figure out how to do it to a Material Surface Pattern...
