MATCH GRAPICS OVERRIDES

I know we can use the match properties tool for general properties, but can you click and match an override graphics setting from one object to another -  in the same view - for example I have a wall I have turned to transparent with a different projection line - and inserted a new wall that I quickly want the same.

Possible??

If you override graphics by a View Filter by Rules then you can just set them to meet the same rules.  If you override graphics by a View Filter by Selection then edit the Selection and add the new wall.

I guess that you used override grafics in view by element by right clicking the wall which you have made a different projection line. This method will affect the single element you choose in the view. "MA" will not be able to match the graphic override from this element to the other. Maybe you could make a selection filter and set the override once after finishing the model. Or, give a  particular project parameter to the categoty you need to make the override, and then, set a value to those elements, in which view you could use filter to catch them. Another way to do this, you could see some Revit addins, some of them will provide similay fuction or just use dynamo to get/set the override.

Thanks, from everything I have looked at it can't be done by just quickly matching graphic overrides to the view, just have to do it manually (I miss the ACAD match property when you just click - click and match up everything how you want it after, but we are asking a lot more here obviously than just matching lines)

The tool you see in Revit is Match Type Properties, not Instance Properties.  And if you want to override graphics some element and repeat it over and over then you need to re-look at your workflow.  Because that is exactly what view's Filters are for. 

p/s Are you using full Revit or Revit LT?

What's so difficult about Adding Elements to a previously created Selection Set (as @ToanDN suggested)?   It would be 3 Steps. 

...PLUS, Selection Sets are just way easier to work with in the long run.

Maybe because the OP already knows about view filters and selection filters/sets and neither address his query?

Or maybe because the op might be looking for a solution that allows him to match overrides which have been applied by elements where no filters of selection set are applicable as @BIM-CONG mentioned?

Bathbradley - I don't seem to be able to access this editor - I have Revit LT and I can't find an edit to the filters

I also have to be honest, perhaps because of the lack of having that editor I am a bit lost, or maybe I'm just lost

it has bough to my attention that I need to do a bit of tutorial on this and then I might be able to understand at least the question for you on where I am at with it

A couple of things are coming out of this thread, 1. clearly I don't really know how to use filters and / or LT has a bit less function which I am not sure, and 2. i have tow work through why when I set up the materials in the first place - like the transparency on this glass panel - it does not necessarily show up in every view per that setting, before I can ask that question I need to work out what my question is and rule out other things including the template I am using which might have some kinks I have to sort out

I will have a revisit on this asap when I can dedicate some extra time to it

LT doesn't have a "Selection" Panel with the "Save", "Load" and "Edit" tools on the Manage Tab???

If LT doesn't have View filters so yes your inquiry is solid.  I believe LT doesn't run Dynamo or any Add-ins so you are  out on that front too.

Thanks for that guys, I am going to have a look at why my material settings are not coming through all the views and then add to the question, once I know what that is. I will just need to spend time on that really rather than reverting to graphics overrides as quickly as I am. I am not sure that I have an issue there yet as I need to edit out the obvious things first before I start firing off the blatantly obvious questions for which I should already have solutions.
