Making this stretchable family

Why cant i make this family stretchable horizontally? I did everything correctly?

Try this. I deleted the aligning line to simplify the family, you can add it back in if you want.

The reason the family wasn't stretchable was that the extrusion hadn't been locked to the side reference planes. I also made those reference planes "strong references" which allow for the handles to show up when loaded into projects.

You just have to lock the object to the reference plane. See attached
