I am trying to make this component, or something similar, into a sort-of wall type family that I can drag along an existing wall to show the form along side the completed shotcrete wall.  I am currently trying to used line-based component modeling to do this. I have created a 3/4" plywood component which drags along the wall but when I add other generic, line-based, or wall-based components to this (both nested and not nested) it fails to be a drag-able component and instead becomes a single piece which I can place consecutively but cannot alter the length.

What am I doing wrong? What should I do instead?

Thank you!

Did you attach the wrong family?...

There are no reference lines in the one you attached. It is the wall based generic model...you need to model it in a line based (ie: 2 pick points) and associat the array of the vertical posts as well as the horizontal ones to the Length parameter
