Make sloped corbel with a column as one element

Hi all,

I'm currently working on a project in Revit and am having trouble joining a sloped corbel to a column to make it part of the column ( make them one element as a column), as shown in the attached picture. I've tried using the "Join Geometry" tool, but so far I haven't had any luck. I was wondering if you might have any suggestions for how to resolve this issue. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or advice you can offer.

Cheers,

Open the structural column family, and add the corbel. To make it easier, you can do the corbel as its own generic model family, then nest into the structural column family, and constraint its location in elevation view.

What is the Corbel Family Template?  Is the Corbel using the same Material as the Column? Are the edges between the Corbel and Column flush?

Post your RVT so we can see.
