Locking level heads

I have always had a hard time manipulating the locking of my level and the heads. Can anyone help me make this task easier?

It usually pertains only to the added levels.

BTW I add levels by clicking on one and "Create similar".

Thank you!

Hi @glkirk

I prefer always just to copy my levels instead create new ones. This way, the levels maintain their constrains and also copy all the configurations.

So, just select your level in an elevation or section view; use the copy tool (CO); point above or below your actual level and input the distance between them. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Thanks, I will try that in the future.

I just spent some time lining both ends up and this time, I tried unlocking and then locking again.

It seems like when dragging them, the level heights have a tendency to move :enttäuschtes_Gesicht:

But I think I have them all locked in this view

I also clicked on one level and clicked "Propogate Extents.

When I cut another section, they are all a mess again, and in "Elevation" they are all a mess.

Hi!

Look at this 3d text. If you click it changes to 2D. What the differences between them?

cSkTG4m

If you open the 3D view you can see the propagated/reseted/changed levels. While Level 3D mode (as shown before) if you change it in any view section, elevation, 3D, every other view will have their level line changed too.BPKQ4CR

Otherwise, if you change it to 2D level mode, you change it only on that specific view.

Please, try that and tell me if worked it. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Thanks again for working with me!

I first only read your email responce and isolated my levels in 3d. I found 2 of them were off, so I changed them.

I then went to my second test section and found the same 2 off. (Not sure If I made them off in 3d view.

Then read your complete post and couldnt find the 2d you are speaking of

You can see the 2D when click on the little tiny 3D text above your selected level. If you click it again, it changes back to 2D/3D/2D/3D...

I would create a scopebox. Then set the elevation to the scopebox. This keep your elevation consistence and you can't accidentally stretch the elevation.

When you run into issue where elevation mark is complete at opposite side, you could duplicate type mark and switch one of the end. I would use this approach when you have a lot of views to switch elevation head. elevation different place.png

Thanks again you guys,

But I think its time to get some tutoring from Alfredo.

He will help me with this project and teach me about copying and scope boxes. I think its too hard for me to learn so much on the forum.

Again thank you very much!!

It is because you only locked the 2d extent, which only affects the current view. You need to create a new non cropped elevation view then the levels will show their 3d extent, then you stretch the to line them up and lock. Now they will line up in any new views created from this point.
