List of Default Families Available

In the process of learning Revit LT, I rediscovered the old MSDOS Tree command and created a list of the default "Families". I figure its important to know where all the various Families are in the convoluted structure of the default library. It runs 11 pages, small text and lists all the .rfa files. For "conventional" U.S. units, not metric. Tried to upload it to the forum, but the post doesn't seem to go through. About 1/2 a meg in size. 

 

Its in a .rtf format to avoid potential malware.  Hoped it might it help folks navigate families and learn the program.

MSDOS!? Why not just drill down into the Library Folder using this new-fangled Windows UI.

MS-DOS (or Windows Power Shell) has the TREE command.

Because Windows only allows me to see a dozen or so items at a time. There are probably a thousand families listed, but its difficult to understand the context of their relationships with such a small snapshot. Besides I can mark up a list by hand much easier. Listing the limitations of height on certain doors for instance. This might be an LT only thing btw.

 "Listing the limitations of height on certain doors for instance"? What do you mean by this?  What kind of information is in this tree?  Does it list all the  TYPES and PARAMETERS within each family?

Ha ha, no, you have to add that yourself of course.

In our case we use a lot of 8' high interior doors, so doors that can't be set that high are pretty much useless to us.
