Linking a parameter

Hi all,

This may be a really simple question and I just don't know what to search, but I am after the following:

Say I have a room with 2 custom parameters - Room Name and Room Number. I am then tagging the rooms with these, e.g. R22 - Bathroom 1 or R11 - Living Room.

Is there a way to set up the names from the codes so that they automatically set when I set the number ?

I thought this might be a lookup or a key schedule, but I don't seem to be able to how this applies.

Many thanks.

Did you create a custom Room Tag from scratch or did you tweak an OOTB family?

I mostly tweaked one, but changed it quite a bit with my own parameters.

We have got a Key Schedule that has been created to show Occupancy per Code. It's nice, because in the room Properties we can assign Occupancy. It's nasty because Key Schedule DO NOT accept Shared Parameters. I've been exactly where you are, and it's a very painful place to be!

The only thing that I can think of would be to add a Project / Shared text parameter to your rooms and add the information manually per the Key Schedule. And as far as Room names / numbers go, let the tag do its thing.
