Linked Structural Columns not showing Cut Pattern VGO consistently across all levels

The VGO Cut Pattern is not coming through consistently for all levels for Struc Columns at the same location.

This only seems to affect the views in Revit as the PDFs are coming out fine.
But it is still very annoying.

Anyone also having this problem?
Any acceptable workarounds?

Thank you

Try it making filters by Family Type names

Try using a Custom VG Setting with a Filter for Structural Columns Cut Pattern and apply to a View Template for Linked Struct. Columns in all your plan views.

Tried that. Did not work.

Also tried editing the columns "Show family pre-cut" and Symbolic Representation" properties without success.

And tried to set the Walls transparency to 1 but that did not work either.

In Revit, check the VG of the Plans that are working correctly. Then compare to the VG of the plans that are not working correctly.

  • Are any of them overridden individually ( Override Graphics in View)?
  • Is Analytical Model View set on any views/view templates?
  • Are you using By Linked View in any Views/View Templates?
  • Is the Cut Plane set above 48" on all views?
  • Are any Plan Regions being used?
  • Have you (or can you) open the Linked Model and see if it displays correctly by itself?

Thank you for these suggestions @cbcarch . Answers above in Green.

The View Range is set by the View Template and different Cut Plane values seem to affect the graphics differently (images attached below).

Also finding that zooming in and out changes the way how they look. See GIF attached below.

I'm wondering if it is a graphic card problem, since they print correctly to PDF, but the GIF shows them acting strangely in Revit.

Try changing Hardware Acceleration. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/C...

Hi @cbcarch ,

Just tried with both Hardware Accel. ON and OFF and the problem remains.

Following your suggestion, I also checked for the Analytical View for both views and it was OFF.

The reply I got from the Autodesk Elite Expert from the ticket I submitted is that this is likely to be a bug.

Have you used any addin for this particular file, addins are known to cause such corruption by modifying the elements.

That is a good suggestion, thank you @sureshchotrani.

Autodesk Support is labeling this as a bug.
