Hello,
We are having an issue with our ceiling grid. When we demo lights in a ceiling grid, the grid shows gaps/breaks in the grid. I have several pictures of examples attached. The new lights leave gaps in the demo plan and the demolished lights leave gaps in the construction plan. Unfortunately, the plans do print this way. Is there any solution to this? Thank you!

I am trying to replicate your issue and wasn't able to do it. Can you check what phase filter are you set to.
As well did you update to the latest Windows update? That may cause PDF output to display incorrectly. Also check this website for windows update patch that may resolved your PDF issues

My construction plan is set to new construction phase with show previous + new phase filter. My demo plan is set to new construction phase with show previous + demo phase filter. I do have the latest windows version, however, this has been an ongoing problem for a few years now.
Can you upload the sample so we can take a look.

What do you mean by "Demo Plan"? Do you have an actual "Demo" Phase sandwiched between existing and new construction, or do you mean a View with a Phase Graphic Overrides applied?
Hello all,
I have created and attached an example file for your review.
Thank you,
I have only a new and existing phase in the project. I have the demolition plan set on new construction with filters set up to show the demolished items.
Do you realize that you have 2 Ceiling with 15 Light Fixtures and another Ceiling with 10 Light Fixtures separated from each other by over 7 miles in the Project you posted?
Oh, I see what you mean. Reference this area only. I copied a ceiling in at one time while creating the example and I thought I deleted it. I have a better file for review attached as well.
Why the heck is your ceiling and light fixtures so far away from your Project's Internal Origin, Project Base Point and Survey Point??? Maybe this is the cause of your issue.
This issue has been happening for years on many projects. This is an example that I put into a blank file. With buildings next to the internal origin or far away, the same issue is still happening.
Use Ceiling-Based Troffers instead of Face-Based Troffers.
FWIW: the OOTB Lighting: Internal: Architectural Troffers are Ceiling-Based.
Are you referring to when placing a component, select place on work plane instead of place on face?
Thank you,
I'm saying to use Ceiling-Hosted Lights as opposed to Face-Hosted Lights. Yours are Face.
Oh, interesting! Is there a way to alter that in the family? The box is greyed out. Or does the family need to be re-built?

I would just build Ceiling-Hosted version and then placed instances of the Ceiling-Hosted family in the Project. Basically, delete the Face-Hosted ones you currently have placed in the Project, and then place Ceiling-Hosted ones in the their place. Unfortunately, you cannot simply swap out a Face-Hosted for a Ceiling-Hosted via the Family Preview Selector. I believe Revit will spaz out when you try. Good luck.
I've look at the file. Apparently i notice your family void is not locked. So I extend the void by 2"
This was what I saw in my Revit
After the fixed family loaded in
