Linked Revit and local copies

Hey all,

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, concerning this particular problem I've encountered

I have the Structural, Architectural, and Equipment files linked to our mechanical file of a workshared project. Once I save a local copy everything works as it should as long as I'm connected to the server. So if I open the project from a local file on the job site, I only get the Mechanical file, none of the links. Does revit not save the links to a local copy as well?

Thanks, your help would be appreciated

No Revit doesn't save the link files as a local copy. If your job site computer doesn't connect the the server, try save a copy if the links to the same folder as your local file see if they will be recognized.

Do you have any arrangements to work remotely? That would be the best way out.

If not - open a Detached Copy. Move copies of the linked files into the same folder. Relink. Basically you are creating an 'archive' for yourself. This will not update along with any changes made to the central file, so it will need to be periodically updated. Definitely a hassle.
