Linked Point Cloud to other Revit linked project

Hi,

I got the revit drawings for designers and these are all linked each other. Let's say structure.rvt, mep.rvt, arch.rvt.

I just created RCP file from 3D scanned.

And I inserted point cloud on to my MEP Project file(I adjusted point cloud location by moving and rotating) The location is not perfectly accurate, but based on this point cloud location, I'd like to adjust other discipline's revit project file. For example, I'd like to revise existing column locations based on where I located in Mep.rvt.

I know to revise structure.rvt file, I need to close mep.rvt first, and then open the structure.rvt. However, when I open the structure.rvt file, I need to re-insert point cloud and move and rotate the point clouds again. By doing so, the accuracy of location of point cloud is not same as I've done in mep.rvt file.

Is there any way I can locate the point cloud file into structure.rvt as I located in mep.rvt ??

Put the Point Cloud in it's own RVT file. Link that PC RVT into the MEP (or whatever) and position it correctly in relationship to the MEP, then Publish Coordinates of MEP to PC RVT Link. Now you can Link the PC RVT into the other projects via Shared Coordinates.

...just to clarify: I'm assuming you already have a Shared Coordinate relationship established between your discipline RVTs.

How do you put Point cloud in it's own RVT file without link? Point Cloud can not be attached, only can be linked.

I'm not following your question. The PC is inserted into a new Revit Project and saved.  Then that Revit Project with the PC is Linked into another Project. The PC RVT Link is moved to where it needs to be inside that other Project and it's position within that other Project is recorded back to the PC RVT Link.

This is all about Shared Coordinates.  Are you familiar with Shared Coordinates?
