Hi all, I´m working on a project and i want to have my MEP project on anothe file.

I have right now the architecture in one file, and that file is the one I Linked to the MEP one.

My question is, how can I make Revit to "recognize" my "central file" or the linked one so I can add wall based families?

Right now I can´t add wall based families

Hello

Make sure u use a Hosted Family of Plumbing Fixtures this type of families will help u more and make ur work flow efficent because another types of families will not detect if u change wall location but this way will help u more than u think, and be aware when u model architecture items because when u host a elements in Plumbing model u shouldn't delete and re model the best practice to modify. and Good Luck

Best Wishes,,

Use the Copy/Monitor tool to Copy the Linked Walls to your Parent so you can Host Wall-Hosted Components to them.

Don't use wall or ceiling based families.

Unhosted is the least problematic. Face based is a good compromise.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
