With all of the ways to control visibility and knowing nothing about what you have tried, we will be playing a guessing game. My game starts with the basics but I don't want to be insulting because you are a BIM Manager.

So, why don't you share what you have tried so far?

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

@marco.defina  - go into VG>>Revit Links and make sure that the Display Settings for the linked file are overridden to By Linked View.

PS - on a totally unrelated point - please do not make a habit of importing DWG files into Revit - linking them is a safer option for the health of the model.

All visibility and filter was flagged, and the 2 files are new with all visibility on, so I thought there was a problem.

So i rechecked all after your message, i found that in visibility options of imported categories of the linked model one layer was turned off, for  an inexplicable reason. I think a misprint of a precedent .dwg with same name in the Template.

I appreciate your sarcasm, but you know, sometimes everyone make a mistakes Smiley Happy. So the solution is yours, have a nice day.

With linked dwg (685mb of ACIS) Revit was extremely slow. By importing in a separate Revit model and then link this model in the main model, i have a normal speed of Revit and i work better.

Hi!

We have the same problem. We received several dwg's from the architects, as they were just surroundings, we linked them into a revit and then we tried to link that revit to our central file. The problem was that we could not see it unless we reveal the hidden elements. We found the answer you gave to the guy and we tried. It worked, but I would like to understand why and if there is a better way to do it.

Thanks,

Mela

What settings did you use to link the files?

Hi!

When you go to the template or if you change to none, in both options, all
linked files are on and as “By host view”, the only layer inside is as “Not
overridden”, If I change it to “By linked view” it works, but I have to do
it in all the templates.

This is in the file where I inserted the linked files:

Thank you!
