linked dwg annotation visible in plan view but not 3D view

I'm new to Revit so may be missing something straightforward.

I'm modelling a section of road from a linked dwg. Spot heights are visible in plan view but not 3D view -

It would be convenient to be able to see the spot heights in 3D view in order to model in 3D view.

I've had a look at visibility graphics overrides for the 3D view but everything seems to be turned on.

Can anyone help?

TIA

Annotations are View-Specific.

You can apply Spot Elevations to locked 3D Views.

...if you can't figure it out, post the DWG/RVT here and we'll take a look see.

Thanks @barthbradley.

The dwg linework is visible in 3D view but not the spot height text.

rvt and dwg attached here.

Not sure if it has any bearing on the issue but fyi the dwg is an export from Rhino3D.

Many thanks

Text Notes aren't visible in 3D.

ah. ok.

Can anyone suggest a workaround for this limitation? As above - it would be convenient to be able to see the spot heights in 3D view in order to add elevation to points in 3D view. Switching between plan view and 3D view makes for a rather inefficient workflow imo.

Would an image file with the spot heights be visible in 3D view?

You cannot Text Notes to 3D Views.  You could add Spot Elevations to 3D View, but in this case, all the points are at the same height. You could model this in Revit using Floor(s) and then Shape-Edit Floor(s) in Plan View using Modify Sub-Elements to place Points and Split Lines at the Heights specified by the DWG Text Notes.

Yes this is exactly what I have done. At least I now know there isn't currently a better way to do this!

Here's an example section with floor:

NOTE: Modify Sub-Elements Point Elevations were done entirely in Plan View where I could easily reference the DWG Text Notations for Elevations.  No need to jump between Views.

Many thanks for taking the time to model this up.

I'd still prefer to be able to reference elevation text and model in 3D view - that way I'd be able to 'see what I'm doing'. Having to add elevation values in plan view seems like a limitation of the software to me. I don't know how responsive the development side of things is for Revit 🤷‍♂️

But this workflow will work for now.

Thanks again for your help with this
