Linked CAD doesn't show up in one plan view

Hi all. I'm having issues with a civil CAD file. To my knowledge the CAD shows up in all plan views except one, and I can't figure out why. The file is turned on in the view template, and another CAD file in the same view shows up just fine, so I'm stumped. These are the things I've tried so far:

• Shift-select and turn on all the layers in the CAD file (rather than the appropriate layer subset), no change.
• Create a new plan view and apply the view template, no change.
• Select the CAD file in another view, switch to the affected view, right-click and check "override graphics in view" for anything fishy, nothing wrong.

I've attached a partial view of the view template showing that the file is visible and some layers are turned on, including layer 0 on which all the xrefs are placed. I also noticed that the properties of this CAD file appear very differently than the landscape file which shows up correctly. I don't know if this has any significance but I'm including views of those properties too. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. TIA.

Update: I've found another plan where this file doesn't show up. There doesn't seem to be any similarity between the views except that they are both at small scale (1/16" or less). But there is another plan view at 1/16" where it does show up, so no insight there.

Another clue: When I open a new session of Revit, I get the following error:

I've opened the file (again) in Autocad and verified that the references are valid and that they all exist in BIM360. What else could be going on? Note, the file does load and appear in many views, so it's not like it's failing to show up.

Clear BIM360 cache in your hard-drive.

OK, I did that but although it made the error message go away, it didn't solve the linked CAD problem. Any other ideas?

OK, I think I figured it out. I was able to copy and paste the .dwg into the views that need it. This tells me that the file was originally linked using "current view only". This is definitely not our Revit standard, and I was not the one who linked it. But since there are hundreds of layers to control and only a couple of views where it needs to appear, I'm going with it.

Related question: once a file has been linked using "current view only", is there any way to change this without deleting and re-linking it (and losing all the layer control in the templates)?

No way except relinking it.  If you want the link to be showing in my multiple views but not in 3d then link it in an in-place or loadable generic model family, and with Current view only ticked
