Link IFC not showing - Revit 2017

Hello,

I have two questions:

1. I am trying to Link an IFC file in Revit 2017. It seems that the IFC file is linked (see attachments) but I can't see the IFC file in my project (I have turned on all the V/G). Do you have any idea?

2. I want to link the IFC in order to check, if I will be able to see the shared parameters that I have assigned in each element. Do you know if it's possible? To select an element and to see its parameter?

Thank you in advance!

Regards,
Maria

Hello @mairh_tsek

Setup the template and/or the views to show the linked files. Go to the view, type VG or VV (for visibility graphics) and change the settings as follows:

From your attached files - 3.png you had set it up to host view, please change the setting to show 'custom'

Let me know this solves your visibility issues.

Hi @Viveka_CD ,

Unfortunately I have the same result!

Do you have something else to propose to me?

Thank you!

Hi @mairh_tsek

Did you check the export settings and made sure that the IFC mapping file that you want to use for the export to IFC is loaded and is actually on your computer? If not please copy the .txt file from the other computer and load it on yours.

Can you paste your screenshot again. Can't see your setting. I have the same problem now. The IFC file is loaded but not shown.

I solved this problem going to the V/G > Revit links > Custom and put in the Phase Filter: "Show All" and in the Phase: "Latest Phase"

Hi @bwang-tecoustics

Please go to your visibility graphics - Revit links tab and follow the same settings as shown above and try as suggested by @mairh_tsek

Let me know if this helps resolve your issue.

Hi @Viveka_CD and @mairh_tsek

I hope you can help me as well.

I have a RVT 2018 model where I have to import an IFC (RVT 2019) model into.

I have tried the same method as the mentioned solution in this thread, showing latest and all phases.

In the RVT file which it generates from the import of the IFC, I can see both 2D and 3D.
