Just new to Revit and using 2013. Using the program straight out of the box, the existing condition model lines are light while the proposed change lights come out dark. Where should I start to make all of the lines the same weight?

Sounds like you need to take a look at Phase Filters first. You have Phase Filters that you setup for your entire project model, and then you assign one to the view. The defaults have existing elements toe be a pretty light gray as an override. Just remember that the overrides are project wide, so if you use the overrides in one view, they will look the same in another view. You can also choose to not use the override at all and have existing elements look just like new elements.

That's the 2014 help page, but it's identical to 2013. (And pet peeve-wise, the Phase Filters are near the top of my list of things I would like to see changed in future versions, but that's me)
