LINE WEIGHTS NOT CHANGING

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello, I am trying to change my line weights for cut lines and projection lines and I have tried changing them on object styles as well as on visibility graphics but my changes are not being applied to the line weights. I have also tried changing the color and line pattern just to see if it works and it actually works but the line weights just won't change. What should I do.

Object Styles govern globally unless Visibility/Graphics overrides are invoked. So if you assign pen 5 to something in Object Styles but change it to Pen in 3 in V/G then Pen 3 is what you should get. If someone has used Override Graphics (right-click option) then changes to OS or V/G won't change that element's appearance.

Also the Lineweights table governs the thickness of each "pen" at different scales. This way as a view scale gets coarser lineweights can get progressively thinner to avoid creating muddy drawings.

What category element(s) are you trying to change?

Revit has a Hierarchy of overrides. Object styles and Visibility Graphics a re pretty low on the list. check this chart out and start checking some of the items 7 and above (see attachment...).

I haven't applied any overrides and I have even checked for filters just in case but there are none applied. I am trying to change line weights for walls, windows, doors, furniture as well as entourage ( a shipping container that I downloaded from revitcity).

How do I do that?

I haven't interfered with any of the other options, I went directly into the object styles option and went back to visibility graphics after it became apparent that changing the line weight in object styles wasn't working.
