Line Pattern Definition Cannot be Reset

I want to change the Line Pattern makeup list when editing a line pattern but cannot remove/set to null for unneeded def-lines.

ADDITIONAL SETTINGS > LINE PATTERNS > EDIT

AI suggested setting the type value to space and setting a 'zero' value but Revit will not allow line lengths below certain threshold.

In short I want to change a DASH-DOT-DASH(3 lines) to a plain DASH-SPACE(2 lines) type. Surprised I have not been able to find a trace of anyone else who has ever tried to do this.

Hoping there is a simple despite obscure method to do this.

Shouldn't you remove a dash and a space, or a dot and a space instead?

The issue is that it does not seem possible to remove lines in the Line Pattern definition edit dialogue, you can only add a line or change a dot-to-a-dash or a dash-to-a-dot. Once a line has been added you cannot take it out.

Are you suggesting to 'create a new LINE PATTERN'? You can do this but not with the same name, and it would mean reattaching the Pattern in every line style override across all view templates.

-Make a new Project (Empty)

- Define a line pattern in the same name

-in your Project use Transfer Project Standard

- Choose the Line Patterns or Line Styles

- inDialogBox choose Overwrite
