Lighting problem

My spot lighting in revit 2008 does not emit light when i render with raytrace. Please who knows the reason.

There are several possibilities so I suggest you post :

 

1. the lighting family file to this discussion  

2. A screen capture of the properties panel of an instance of this light in you project that doesn’t render.


This will allow others to test your light fixture.

Is it supposed to emit light? How do you know it's not emitting light?

Turn on the LIGHT SOURCE in your family.

Or how about “Did you try turning it on and off again?” 😉
Maybe “jiggle” the mouse and “slap” the side of the computer when turning it on. 😊

It is because the light did not illuminate the wall close to it.

I dont know where LIGHT SOURCE is located. Please can you tell me. Thanks.

Share the spot light family. Check and see if the light hide behind glass object. Often the light won't show because the glass maybe set to opaque material or by category.

Thanks. I created a light and it worked when i changed the material to glass. The spotlight worked when i moved it to a shadowed area.
