Hello. No light seems to be coming through my Velux windows when i am rendering. Could someone please help? The Velux is externally downloaded but even when i used a standard Revit roof light, no light still come through. I am using Revit LT. I will also attach the file so you guys can have a look if need be. Im just after my bathroom view to be rendered with light in it Smiley Mad

Open the skylight family. Select the glass pane. Edit extrusion; check Properties of Material. It will need to be a transparent Glass. Check settings for reflectivity, opacity, translucency, etc. in the Materials settings.

Save/reload into project. Do a quick test render and see if light comes through.

Hello and thank you for the quick response. I dont know what id do without this forum. Anyway, i matched the settings to what you had and still, the render came out as pitch black? Also as i am using Revit LT the renders are done in the cloud

Hello and thanks for the quick response also. I tried this and the render is still coming out as black. I know the glazing is fine as its the same one used in all my other renders. Could it be something to do with the roof? I have even tried to cut out a dormer section for the window and the render is still black.

Sounds daft but try moving your camera slight further forward.. It might be sitting just inside the wall behind the view.. that worked for me! 🙂
