Laminated Column Family

I'm looking for help creating a laminated structural column family to be used in a post frame/ladder frame construction from 2-ply 2x6 all the way up to a 5-ply 2x12 column w/o using the "wall" command.

I was wondering if you can use model hatch pattern instead of creating individual stud to achieve the same look. See attached

Either of the following should work

• Option A: apply the Laminate as an additional extrusion with its own thickness or material
• Option B: When Thickness is negligible apply the Lamination as a Paint finish and then assign that paint to a parameter
