Label is trying to resolve a nonexistent formula

This is an odd question.

I have a text label as part of a sheet, i need to type some coordinates into this label (eg: 03°60'32.0"N)

When i paste the coordinates in and press enter, it tells me ' Enter a value or formula starting with"=" '

So due to the symbols, the label is assuming i want it to calculate a formula, but i just want the text to be displayed, nothing more.

of course adding the = symbol doesn't help

The labels parameter properties are set to "Discipline:common" & "Type of parameter: text"

the kicker is, i shouldn't edit this sheet or is properties, because it was supplied by our (strict) client.

so is there some kind of command or prefix or anything else that will make this label recognize its to be text only?

thank you.

Hello

Edit Sheet Family, and check that particular "label"

it must be a

1.Integer

2.Number

and not a

3. Text..

You cannot put text in place of integer""number", Angle, etc..

but you may put numbers in "text "parameter..

have a go

best luck..

@Anonymous: I can't replicate your issue when I use 03°60'32.0"N in Formula field, but not when I use it in Value field. Apparently, Revit can't reconcile the inch mark (e.g. quotation mark) when it's use in Formula Field.  But, I have no problem inserting it directly into Value field.  So, I'm wondering if the Value is being pulled into another Parameter's Formula. That might explain the issue.

Can you post a file for us to look at?

Use two ' instead of one ".

Should read: "CAN replicate your issue when I use 03°60'32.0"N in Formula field, but not when I use it in Value field. "

But, @ToanDN is right: two apostrophes, instead of one quotation mark, works.
