Paper space reminds of AutoCAD and fax machines. Are you using Revit?

If this is for Revit, make sure both are the same parameter. Maybe explain a bit what you are trying to do, what you have done and share the family. Looks like you are dealing with a titleblock family.

Revit Version: R2026.2
Hardware: i9 14900K, 64GB, Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada 16GB
Add-ins: ElumTools; Ripple-HVAC; ElectroBIM; Qbitec

Wrong forum... you'll need to re-post it in the AutoCAD Forum.

I'm reading you differently from everyone else. Sounds like you want the Model Text in Revit Model Space to parametrically change to match the "Start Date" in the Titleblock on the Sheet.  In other words, if the "Start Date" is changed to "1/25/2023", that Model Text would automatically update to reflect this same date.

Am I reading you right?

Is the date parameter used as a hypothetical example or it is what you need to match?

Well, use AutoCAD terminology no more (i.e Paper space -Model space)🙂

@ToanDN , @barthbradley : my idea is to get the model text, placed on the Revit modeling space, to change automatically / parametrically as soon as I change Start Date of job on my project information.

I made an annotation family using model text, I created a shared parameter called "Start Date" like multiline text and then I linked / associated the model text with the shared parameter in order to use it like a label to be placed on the Existing site plan which is the same date of commencing the project (Existing by...) and it did not work at all, I don't really know what I am doing wrong.

I use model text because, if I use a regular 2D text and I have to make a change, this text will not match on all duplicated views.

On September 14, 2022, I went to jobsite, I made Site plan according to what I saw on september 14 2022, I submitted plans to planning department (Existing, Demolition, Proposed), then my client started making several sheds... On January 23, 2023 planning inspection asking me why the sheds not in my existing plan.

Then I came with the idea to add to my Site Plan, Existing by: = Start Date.

... I hope this explanation helps, thanks

Thanks a lot for your responses and infinite thanks for all you have taught to me for the last years.

Just because of you using the same shared parameter for the anno label and the 3d model text doesn't mean they share the same content.  It only works if both the anno label and the 3d model text reference the same thing, for example: using the anno label in a tag and use the tag to tag the 3d model text.
