Keynotes do not work on one sheet

Of course this is only happening on the one sheet that I need to get out today.

When I opened the sheet, all of my keynote tags and keynotes are missing on the sheet, a grading plan.  I've opened the other sheets in the set and they are all fine.  Just this one sheet.

I can place keynote tags on the other sheets but not this one.  Nothing, notta.

I've checked hidden categories, visibility graphics, there is no view template to mess it up.

I'm not that strong in Revit knowledge wise and so don't know what to do from here.  I'm old and close to retirement, Revit is pushing quickly to retire, so frustrating.

try to go to the view that you be able to see all your keynotes, create a view template of that view and apply to the views that you cannot see your keynotes and see if helps. thanks

Have you check the keynote legend and check off filter by sheet?

I tried to create a view template from another view and apply it to the grading plan and it did not work.  It actually also created a number of other issues.  I hit undo, I don't need new issues.

Checking off filter by sheet did not work.

My legend is on the sheet where I originally placed it.  I think the issue is the tags on the plan.  I can't see the ones I've already placed on the plan previously not can I place a tag on the sheet.  No tag, no keynote.

Do you do the numbering by sheet, or by keynote? Maybe switch that around.

and you say you place them on sheets. Just want to make sure you actually place them on the view (that is on a sheet). Can you move a view from a sheet that shows keynotes to that sheet and see if those keynotes appear?

I number by keynote.  I really don't want to start switching things up now since all is working on the other views, just this one is not working.

Yes, the tags are in the views, not on the sheets.

I'm really pretty sure it's an issue with the tags.  The ones I have already placed in the view are not showing, nor can I place a tag in the view.  I originally thought that my tags may have somehow gotten erased but the fact that I can't place a new tag leads me to believe that is not the case.  I should also note that I'm coming back to make revisions after not looking at this project for quite some time.  Everything was fine previously.  And, like I previously said, the issue would have to be on the one view that I need to revise.

Frustrating...

Try placing one tag and see if the schedule populate.

I figured out what the issue is but not completely sure how and why some things were happening.

Because this is a AutoCad plan that I brought into Revit, there was nothing to host (not sure if that is the correct term) the tag so I placed a small piece of wall in the plan and tagged everything to it and then relocated my tags to the location I needed them in.  I had pinned the piece of wall but it somehow got erased, and all my tags disappeared.  The curious thing is that when I placed another piece of wall to see if that was in fact what happened, I could not tag it.  I walked away for a bit and tried again and it is working.

If there is a better way to tag keynotes when there is not an object on the plan, I would love to know how.

Glad you found it out.

Yeah, the downside (or upside) of keynotes is they need a host in the BI model. There is a way to fake keynotes with some manual annotation way. But you give up all the automation.

I'm not quite sure about your workflow.... and why there is not an actual Revit model with items to place keynotes on. but if you don't do things the Revit way (like modeling the actual building), things go wonky.
