Keynotes and Mass

Can anyone of the three keynote types (Element, Material, User) be assigned to an "In-Place" mass and have that keynote show up on a Sheet with a view (like floor plan) attached to that sheet and a keynote legend attached to that sheet with the "Filter by Sheet" filter option checked in the keynote properties.  It used to work in earlier versions of REVIT, but it doesn't work any more.

The actual keynote text in the following examples are irreverent.  They were used for keynote examples.  The keynote file is a small (.txt) custom file just for this exercise.  That file was placed with the other keynote text files in the REVIT program on the computer.

Image #1 is the site plan.  It has two masses, with attached keynotes, way out to the left.  One of those masses is an "In-Place" mass (with keynote 1101b) and the other is a mass made as a Family and loaded into the project and inserted into the view (with a keynote 1101a).  There is a third keynote on the right edge of image that is pointing at a mass roof object (with a keynote of 1101c).

Image #2 is the floor plan.  It has three keynotes attached.  One is pointing at the toilet (Keynote 1201a), a standard REVIT family component.  One pointing at a door (Keynote 2101a). also a standard REVIT family component. and the third pointing at the concrete walkway (Keynote 1101d), made from an "In-Place" mass.

Image #5 is the first sheet view, with Site Plan and Keynote Legend attached.  You can see the two masses with associated keynotes outside the sheet and to the left.  that is by design so that the mass and keynote number won't print on the sheet, but the actual keynote text will appear on the sheet as a general note.  One of those masses is an "In-Place" (keynote 1101b) and the other is a imported Family mass (1101a).  The third keynote (1101c) is located on the right hand side of the Site Plan view, pointing to the roof structure.  As you can see the Imported Family mass and the roof structure keynotes both appear in the Keynote legend, while the keynote attached to the "In-Place" mass doesn't show up in the keynote legend.

Image #6 is Sheet 2 with the Floor Plan inserted and the Keynote Legend attached.  There are three keynotes in the middle of the floor plan, two attached to standard REVIT components (1201a and 2101a) and one to an "In-Place mass (1101d).  As you can see in the Keynote Legend, only two of the keynotes appear, again. the one attached to the "In-Place" mass doesn't show up.

I've been teaching this exercise for many years, and have used the exact same instruction just fine... until 2016 or 2017 version of the program... and it doesn't populate the "In-Place" mass keynotes into the keynote legend.

Make sure Mass category is Visible for the View.  Don't reply on the Show Mass Form from the Ribbon.

I'm pretty sure that was the answer.  Even though the mass appeared in the view and on the sheet, if the "Mass" check box isn't checked in the Visibility / Graphics pop-up window, it doesn't work.  Way to go
