Whenever I add a new keynote to an element, a previously added keynote is changing its description to match the new one. For example, I'll have a 6" pipe labeled with a keynote, and when I add a keynote for an 8" pipe, the 6" changes to match the 8". If I try to change the previous one back, the other also changes to match again.
Any idea why this is happening?
If the pipes are from the same family, that family's Type Mark will take on the value of the keynote assigned to it and apply it to all elements of that particular family. Duplicate the pipe family, rename it, and see if that works.
Thank you for the response, Phil! My colleague was able to figure out the issue. I was using element keynotes and therefore whenever I would tag a like element (pipe) it would match all similar elements to match descriptions. The resolution was to use user keynotes, so that it would be exactly the description you chose, regardless of being similar elements.
FYI: keynotes-in-revit
