Joining structural framing beam systems - miter

Novice Revit user here!

I have made Rafters using a Beam system on the inner face of the roof. How can I join the beams in the centre with a miter joint? 

I have tried join geometry but i get the error 'Can't cut joined element.'

Currently i'm working on Revit 2020 but behavior may be same on your Revit 2018.3

You have to check if joints are allowed beetween your beam

> select beams / cursor on the extremity concerned/ right click/allow Joint

If there is an option to disallow, don't use it, it seems allow joint is currently ON for this extremity of the beam.

When it is check,

follow theses steps

> modify Tab/ edit joint beam/column (red cloud on picture below)

> check if arrows of your beams are in opposite way to each other.
