Issues with using copy monitor on Curtain walls

I'm trying to use the copy monitor tool to copy some curtain walls over to our architectural model from the interior design team.

I have specified in the options dialogue that it should remain the same type and also checked that openings and windows should be copied.

When I finish the process the curtain wall that is created in my model doesnt follow the arrangement of the mullions and also doesnt account for any curtain panels that differ from the type settings eg. doors etc.

Any thoughts on how I could avoid this issue? is there maybe a better workflow for copying curtain walls from one model to the other?

For reference I included some pictures of the two walls ( pink - original; green - copied version)

maybe this is a good solution: link the interior model into your project and then use 'Bind Link' to turn it into a group. From that group, you can copy the curtain walls exactly as they are—including mullions and custom panels like doors—into your own model. After that, you can just delete the group. This way you have more control and avoid the usual Copy/Monitor issues.
