Top Rail Post Join unable to control vertical distance

I am unable to control the height of the railing where the end condition is Post. I want the top to be fixed but the bottom bend needs to be move vertically down.

Tab select the top rail element, then click edit rail.

Now you can select the lines making the "D" shape and move them.
