Issues with creating a ramp.

Hi,

I have a problem with creating a ramp. It isn't created right and looks more like something for the winter Olympics than something that cars can drive on.

I have tried many things in the properties tab, where only the maximum slope seemed to have any effect. What I noticed was that the ramp started to look right at a coefficient of 1/100+. On the other hand, for my ramp, I need a coefficient of 1/8 and when I do apply this setting it looks like the screenshot below.

Problem Ramp Screenshot I have not tried to create the ramp in multiple instances as I would like to avoid that. 

Could you help me out?

Is the top of ramp above grade or at grade level?

Create a mass and roof by face.

By the way, auto-ramps need smooth transitions @ top and bottom so those lowered-riced Honda Civics don't bottom themselves out like they usually do coming in and out a MacDonald drive-thru picking up their daily dose of obesity/diabetes.  Below shown exaggerated but you get the idea.

You have to Draw Ramp similar to stairs, where ever there is a turn or change of slope, need to put riser..

Only a flat one planer surface can have constant slope, a curved surface cannot have a constant slope.

If you put two riser as I have show you will get the ramp modelled right..

when there is a curved ramp, the slope on shorter radius is more than outer ones...

hence the one continuous ramp is not able to process " one constant slope"

Its just how the ramps work..

Just for precaution , in ramp properties

1. Give a thickness  ( 15mm seems very less )

2. Maximum Incline length  : its 1200 now but should be more ( ex 25000 ) as per your design..

3. Ramp max slope 1/x : Value given is 5, change it to 8 as per your requirement...

@Corsten.Au Thanks for the explanation, I should have thought about that but I haven't made a ramp in Revit in ages. It is indeed working as it should now.
