Issue with window family

I'm trying to model a new window for a property I'm working on. The existing walls are 550mm thick but the portion of the wall below the Cill is only 300mm thick. I set the cill to the bottom of the reveal and then had the intention of modeling the wall below as part of the window family but this has not worked as intended as it leaves unwanted lines when imported.

Has anyone got any other suggestions on hwo to work around this?

Uhh, don't put the wall in the Family? Place a thinner wall in the model. Or make a Void in the Windows family that cuts away part of the wall. Or use a generic Void-family to cut away part of the wall.

If you need to think about the user of this information, please use different kind of wall types below the window. I know it takes more time, but if you do it, the people who need the information of different kind of structures to be built, they will get better data.

In that case, I would definitely use a void in the Family to cut away part of the wall. When using a Void, you can't use the 'Opening cut' - you'll have to replace that with a void to create both the opening and to cut away part of the wall below the sill.

Create the opening cut in the family to cut the wall area under the window. Nest in anl shared architectural column family to be the wall under the window, disjoin it from the wall in the family if need be. Load the window in the project then you can have what you want

Wouldn't that mean that 100 Sill Heights would have to be set to zero?
