Issue with Tag-All

For some reason the 'Tag All - Furniture tag' tool isn't tagging all of my furniture. As the GIF is showing, my rectangle tabletops (nested furniture family) are not tagged. Interestingly the tabletops for 120 are tagged and currently I have to tag the rectangular ones manually one by one.

Both workstation types are created as system furniture, and the nested chairs and tabletops are furniture families. I've pulled out that tabletop family to the side to test, and the tool tags them out just fine.

What might be causing Revit to ignore the nested rectangle tabletop when tagging?

Could it be the fact that they are nested?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Nope. All the chairs you see in that GIF are nested within the workstation families, and the table top for the 120 desks (one on the left) are also nested. All of them were tagged out.

Could it be the the objects being displayed, i.e. model vs. annotation objects?

Have you check the family name of the tag?
Maybe the family tag use in tag by category is different

Both are the same.

Right now I'm suspecting it's just the way the tabletop family is created. I'm going to build an identical family from scratch using revit default family template. Wonder if that will make a difference.

UPDATE:

I've just figured out that Mask Region is what's causing this problem.

My task chairs have a mask region embedded so I added another mask region to my tabletop to cover up the chair.

That mask (with 'draw in foreground' checked) is blocking 'Tag All' from registering the tabletop.

Any idea how to fix this issue other than deleting my masked region?

Thanks

I don't know if this would work or not, but try putting the masked region in a family of it's own, and then loading that family into the original one (so there's a family in a family)
