Issue with Angled Window in Metric Window Family

Hi!

I’m trying to place a slanted/angled window in Revit that I’ve modeled in Fusion 360 and exported as a DWG file. I’ve loaded it into a project as a family (Metric Window).

The issue is that the window itself is angled, but the wall opening (the "frame" it needs to fit into) is rectangular. I tried using Create → Void Forms → Void Extrusion to cut the shape, but I haven’t had any luck getting it to work.

Does anyone have suggestions for how to handle this? I’ve attached some images to better illustrate the issue.

Thanks in advance!

What did you do to solve this so that other users with the same issue can use this for help.

Not sure why you needed to use a void to cut the wall though when using the opening cut tool in the family constrained to the reference planes making the rectangle would be easier.

Yes, smart!

I changed the Elevation view from Exterior to Interior, and that gave me access to select and edit the shape (see attached image). After editing, I was able to save and close the shape – and the window worked as expected.

There’s probably no single correct view to use, but it should be possible to edit the shape one way or another – it’s just a matter of finding the right view.
