ISSUE PLOTTING FROM REVIT TO AN OCE PLOTTER (Revit 2015)

Yesterday I was having trouble plotting directly from Revit to our OCE plotter. I was trying to plot 4 copies of a 15 sheet set. it seemed like it went through at my PC end of the process. I walked over to the plotter and looked at the que on the plotter monitor and all of those sheets were sitting there or at least it seemed as though. nothing would happen. so I would restart the plotter and a couple of sheets would come out. now I mentioned that I was plotting 4 copies of a 15 sheet set. so every time I would restart a couple of sheets would plot but it would plot 6 copies of a sheet and then it would plot sheets that were included in the set.

so my quick fix was to plot to PDF and then send to the OCE. which seemed to work. my issue is that this just started happening. I have had NO problem plotting directly from revit to the plotter in the past.

Try to remove the Oce printer driver completely and reinstall it

to do so:

  1. Go to Device and printers and select the Oce and click on Remove Device
  2. Click the Start menu and in the search field type "print management." (this can also be typed at the desktop in Windows 8).
  3. On the left side of the Print Management window, select the "All Printers" folder.
  4. If present, right-click the unwanted printer and choose "Delete."
  5. On the left side of the Print Management window, select the "All Drivers" folder.
  6. Right-click the unwanted printer and choose "Remove Driver Package."

if step 2 to 6 didn't let you to delete the driver please reboot the computer and retry it

Hi we have just updated our print recording software to the ARGOS system. I can not now batch print, yet i can print one drawing at a time. The error message say "Revit could not start the print job because it was unable to connect to the specified printer. Check your printer connectivity and try again”

Where is the updated recording, it is not showing up in this thread?

BTW in Revit 2016 the problem has appeared and worse then 2017 (sp2) in 2016 (update 6 for R2) the plot never goes unless we send it to PDF then send the PDF to the Oce PW750.

It's an issue from a Microsoft security update:-

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...

Original information posted regarding this problem on 8/16/2016:
If you are using Windows 10, uninstall KB3172729 or KB3176493, and if you use Windows 7, uninstall KB3177725. For Windows 8, check installed updates by the installed date.

Microsoft have also released a fix for the problem (see above link which will take you to Microsoft's website)
