Is it possible to override text in schedule headers?

I'm aware that one can use the "Clear Cell" tool to override the text in a schedule title, is it possible to do this for headers within the schedule as well?

I have a number of schedules in my project that are sorted by level. The levels are named based on how our project team wants them to appear in sections, for example:  "T.O. FIRST FL F.F.". However, a simpler nomenclature is preferred for the schedule "FIRST FLOOR".

So far, the only solution I can think of is to create a new parameter for the simple version of the name and add it to all of the families that I will be scheduling. However, this is something I would like to avoid as it creates a potential coordination issue if something is relocated to a different level.

I have made it with a new parameter and then used Dynamo to update the parameter base on the Level value. It is easy to updete all the elements (just a click) but there is still coordination issue risk.

Have you thought of perhaps doing the reverse? I would recommend investigating a shared parameter in the level head family. This can then be your custom name the team wants and will be visible on all levels. However the true name of the level will be what you want for schedules, and is only seen here. 
Once you have set the custom name for the level once, you won't have to touch it again.

Sure. 
- Edit your Level head family

- Create a new shared Parameter, "Level Identifier" for example

- Replace the "level" label with this new parameter > Load the new level head family

- Add the shared parameter to the project

Now you can enter in your custom level name your team wants using this new parameter. 

Select the level and in the properties, enter in the true level name you want to see in your schedules. 

Now everyone is happy 🙂

Great idea!

It would be nice to have the ability to override the text within the schedule since there are likely many other occasions where it would be useful. But, for what I'm after this does the trick!

you can also go into the Formatting Tab and change the name of the header there.  The parameter name stays the same, it just overwrites the header name in the schedule, unless I'm missing something.

I think the title of the thread is wrong. The question is about how to overwrite text in values, in cells, such as changing the name of a level to be something else. But the question is entitled "is it possible to override text in schedule headers", for which the answer would be what you just said, using the Formatting tab of the schedule's settings. Or writing on the headers in the schedule view.
