Is it possible to make a roof opening cut part of any option?

i want to make an optional dormer on a home.

I am trying to make the roof cut opening part of my dormer option, but this doesn't seem to work?

What's the best way to do this?  Will i need to create a whole separate roof? of creat an infill peice of roof and have it turned off on the dormer option?

Don't know why dormer wouldn't work. Post the File here. Or, maybe a screenshot will clue us in on the issue.

Hi!

Yes it's possible only the dormer have to be the 2nd option, forget the next steps.... LOL I understood bad

Step 1 

create roofs and walls to get the dormer attach the wall top and base to the roofs

Step 1.1 to attach the roofs use this tool

Select the border of the roof to attach then the roof target

Step 3

To realize the dormer In the arch tab, opening panel, use dormer

Select the roof to be cutted and then select walls and the roof who intersects, here I isolate the parts that I needed, then set wireframe to see the interior wall faces 

Use trim to make corners and now you have a perfect dormer

You need to keep a Main Roof, its Opening, and a Dormer in each Design Option.  So basically you will need to duplicate the Main Roof for all the Options.

LMAO!  "DESIGN"!!! That one f'ing word make everything @svalente9GJKH said totally understandable now.  Yes, hosted elements without the host element cannot be added to a DESIGN Option.
