Revit Model vs. Solidworks export

Our VERY small company is about to get an intern and the boss thinks that we'll use him to create Revit families of complex equipment (my boss doesn't use Revit). I informed him that it wasn't feasible to expect for something this complex to be modeled in Revit (see attached example). I think a better use of his time is to push the manufacturer to export their equipment from Solidworks to Revit. Can someone please confirm that expecting a architectural intern to model something like this in Revit is just not possible/feasible (specifically faucets and sprayers/etc)? Anyone have advice here?

In general it is better to model things natively in Revit. Using exports from other software is often not handled optimal within Revit and might give performance issues.

The model you included can be modelled in Revit. Maybe some small details will be problematic/impossible.

Also is it a single model or does it need parametric (e.g multiple sizes, options)

However the question is what will be the purpose of the family. Do you need it so detailed? Can you simplify it bringing it back to simpler shapes? Less details means smaller size, better performance and easier/faster to model.

For example the power sockets, can it be just a small cube or maybe just a parameter?

Always look at the ROI.
