Is it possible to build sidewalks with volume hosted on a sloped topography?

My project requires the site context around it and I am wondering if I can represent the sidewalks with volume rather than using a subregion. The only method I have come across requires splitting the topography surface but since I have entire residential blocks in the model I am not able to satisfy the splitting into maximum 2 surfaces requirement.

Since the site is sloping it would need to follow the defined topography.

See included images for reference.

Another approach is Railing. Railing will host to and follow the surface of a Topo. Might even look prettier than Roof by Mass Face which would mean a lot of Roofs and therefore visible edges.
