i have general notes as a schedule. i would like to bring them into another project (file). when i go to the insert tab then insert from file drop down then find the file then select the schedule from the list the schedule it brings in is blank.

does anyone have an idea on how I can copy general notes from project to project via schedules like i have tried or if there is another method?

How did you create it in the first place?  Key Schedule?  Note block?

I was told it was originally created as a key schedule.

If I'm not mistaken you can right-click on the schedule in the browser and Copy-to clipboard.

Go to the other file and go to Modify --> Paste from clipboard.

tried that. didn't work. the schedule comes over to the new project/file, but there is no content in the schedule once it is in the new project

Copy a key schedule and paste it onto another project should bring the content over.  Can you edit the schedule and give a screenshot?

I am attaching screen shots of the general notes schedule from its original project and the general notes schedule after I tried to copy them to another project.

I am also attaching a project that has been purged and will contain the general notes for your review

I don't have any problem paste your key schedule to a new file.  All information came in intact.  The error you have is probably you already have another key schedule for the same category (Air Terminals) that drives value for the Comments field.  Check the target file for that.

Edit:  theory tested and confirmed.
