Infill visibility settings?

All,

   We have a project and are trying to get the infill (after a window is demo'd) to not show in the existing/demo plan Elevations. We are replacing the windows on the project with like sizes so no infill is needed, and frankly it reads better when the existing/demo elevations are shown next too the proposed. with no infill (as that implies to a contractor we want it). I swear i stumbled across a setting once and cant find anything after searching. Thank you all in advance

Give them a unique identifier (e.g. Mark, Comment) and Filter them out of the View with a Rule-Based Filter.

How do you set the Phase status and Phase Filter for Demo drawing? If the Phase status is New Construction and the Phase filter is Show Previous + Demo and you place a new window in the same place then there should be no infill shown.

phase is set to existing.....

window phasing =

"phase created" - existing

"phase demolished" - exisitng

That's a temporary phase, not exactly the same as a demolished window... Anyway, you can do what Bradley says and create a filter for the type.

But if you're not planning on providing ifc files ie. you can just cut the infill with the existing wall. But apparently that doesn't work well with ifc files as I understand it, still have to try that sometime though… And check how it affects demo phase possibly... You will need a face-based window or a family witout cut-opening to be able to place a new window in an opening. But usually you would just create a new cut opening in that infill with the new window in new construction phase.

Are there any particular reasons the windows are created and demolished under the same phase?  Normally they are create under Existing and demolished under New Construction.   That would give you the correct presentation out of the box without any workaround.

And if you want to stick with want you are doing, then see attached steps and 2019 file.

…maybe in this case you would just want to remove the cut-opening from your window family and just model the opening seperately.
