Infill panels in existing phase are cutting out ACT pattern

Hello, hello,

We've noticed a problem here that new lights that are placed on an existing ceiling will create infill panels as expected, but the infill panels won't have the original pattern, in this instance, an 2x2 ACT pattern. Results are in the screenshots. It's important we see the original pattern for our Demo plans.

Is this seriously how this is supposed to react? Why wouldn't it at least get the same pattern as the original ceiling? I don't think I should have to use the Paint tool or Detail Lines to finish this out. Is there something else at play here?

Check you Phase Filters and Phase Graphic Overrides. The surface patterns for demo'd items may be turned off.

Can you show the view's phase filter and the phase graphic overrides for that filter?

No pattern overrides besides the color.
I also did this in an empty project, no template and am getting the same results.

The material for demo'd is Phase-Demo. Change it to By Category.

I removed the materials for Existing and Demolished but still no pattern showing.

Here is what I got.  I did not override the pattern, only the color for the illustration.

Try adding the pattern in the material to both Background AND Foreground.

I've tried adding to the foreground and background and still no luck. The overrides work if I also change the fill pattern, but I only want the original pattern to show as red.

Ceiling hosted fixture will show the demo'd pattern per Phase graphic overrides.  Face based will not.  The difference is perhaps Cut Opening versus Void.

I struggled with this, checking Phase filters, graphic overrides, patterns, material, view template setting, underlay settings, etc.

Then on a hunch I checked the View Range for the Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP).

The ceiling has a designated Level.

The ceiling object is set to that level.

Top of the view range referenced that level with an Offset of 0' 0".

So I changed the Offset to 0' 1" ... just to make sure the view was actually "seeing" the ceiling object to a sufficient depth.

INSTANTLY resolved with all phases displayed as intended.

Another example of the quirky "zero" behavior by Revit - or rather my continuing path of discovering all Revit's undocumented behaviors, case by case.

Your problem is not the ceiling or the phases. is the light family. replace it wit a non ceiling based light fixture.
