The bottom stringer for my first step is no longer continuous with the stringer on the lower landing:

If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this please let me know.

P.S. - I have attached a file of the staircase in question.

Edit sketch of the 1st step, select the green edge and set it to Sloped.

I was elated to have seen such an easy fix. Thank you for showing me this.

However, any time I try and initiate the change, a crash ensues and I am prompted to save before the changes are saved...

I attached the error report and a newer version of the staircase in question.

To my knowledge, the only thing added since my last post was a custom stair tread profile. It's a basic rectangle, but 12" wide instead of the 10" actual tread width. This allowed me to fool revit into backstepping the tread behind the risers (see below):

Remove the stringer before editing the run sketch see if it works.

Yes, I tried that. I even tried deleting both stringers but no dice.

I spent almost every combination of editing it before deciding to re-drawin the entire staircase. Luckily it was only the one staircase. Once complete, the converted sketch lines behaved nicely. I now have a completed staircase. Thank you 😊
