Importing OBJ into Revit Family, AND adding parameter to it.

I still play with my window family.. learning.. Revit 2027..

I wanted to add a handle to the window, but I found earlier that Natively Revit has this ~0.8mm minimum line length. So I made a simple Handle in Blender, exported it to OBJ and imported it into my window family..

ONLyyyy nothing actually happens... I figured out that my scale was off..

Now I'm trying to constrain it, but the imported object doesn't react to the align tool, and dimensions don't stick to it.

If I want to make this window parametric, changing the width at least, the handle has to follow. How do I do it when I can not align it to some reference plane or stick a dimension to it?

So obviously, OBJ imported elements are not snapable (Align and dimension don't work). So I created a Family (Generic Model) with only this handle, and loaded this family into my host window family, hoping that I would be able to snap at least to Reference Planes defining the origin point. So I was totally lost when it didn't work either. I tested with completely empty Generic Model family, and it also did not work. Turns out that the snap to nested family starts working when You have at least one snapable object in this family, and it works to that object and to reference planes at a distance from the origin to the extent.

So with only OBJ it works only on reference planes, but from the origin to the extent of snapable objects, which is 0.

So in the end placing OBJ in the nested family and adding two lines (will have to try some annotation too) to turn on snap solved my problem.
