Importing dependent floor plans

Is there a way of organizing the Floor Plan names in the order they lie in terms of relative height instead of by alphabetically? Meaning, instead of having them sort in an alphabetical format, can you tell Revit to sort them in the order they appear in the elevations - lowest level to the bottom and highest level to the top?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dave, your thread has grabbed my attention. After a few read-throughs, I still have no idea what are you are talking about?  My first thought was that you were asking about Browser Organization of Views, but this doesn’t really reconcile with the questions you are asking – nor with the title you gave your thread.

The title of your thread is: “Importing dependent floor plans”. However, you start off by asking: “Is there a way of organizing the Floor Plan names in the order they lie in terms of relative height instead of by alphabetically?” What is the correlation between the two?

Additionally, what do you mean by “tell Revit to sort them in the order they appear in the elevations - lowest level to the bottom and highest level to the top”?  

Perhaps you could provide more information and context?

I am not sure why that heading came up. I was talking about the Oder that the project browser lists the floors. If I have 'Basement', 'Mezzanine', 'First Floor', And 'Second Floor' as floor plan views, it lists them in the browser alphabetically. I want to know how to list them in the order of their level. I.e. have the 'Second Floor' on the top of the list with 'Basement' on the bottom.

As for the heading of the post, I am not sure what happened there...must have been some sort of auto fill or complete.

Well then; what it sounds like you’re inquiring about is “Browser Organization” – which is something you can quite easily customize to suit your needs through filtering, grouping and sorting. To get started: from the “View” tab, select “User Interface”, then “Browser Organization”, then “New”…and then away you go! If you get stuck, there is abundant help information available on the web to guide you. Best of luck to you, Dave.

I just do it by prefixing my View names.

AFP01 - Arch Floor Plan - Basement

AFP02 - Arch Floor Plan - Mezzanine

AFP03 - Arch Floor Plan - 1ST Floor

AFP04 - Arch Floor Plan - 2ND Floor

...or whatever suits you...

May not always work on every project, but it is a good solution for the times I would like to do it that way!
