Imported Object Appears in Plan but not in Elevation

Full disclosure, I imported a 3D object into Revit from Revit City (I know, some may judge me for this), and it appears in plan, however it does not appear in elevation. When I toggle hidden objects in elevation, the item appears in pink, however when I select it I am unable to unhide it, 'elements' is greyed out.

I upgraded the model before bringing it in, and when I select it and look at the parameters, there do not appear to be boxes to either check or uncheck that would control the visibility. Neither when I select "edit type" does there appear to be a toggle that controls the visibility within the object.

Any thoughts?

VG > Import Categories

among 3 dozens other things to check.  But let's start there.

I looked under visibility graphics before, and the imported categories were greyed out. I was able to select items under object styles in imported categories, but was unclear on what to change/manipulate to get the desired effect.

Did you import it directly in the project, or in a model in pace family?  If the latter, check the visibility of the in place family category.   Or, reveal hidden elements, select it (pink element) and unhide.

I downloaded it from the internet, then opened it. It opened into my Revit window automatically (after an upgrade) then I imported it into my model/project.

When I try to unhide, elements is greyed out.

Let me know if this worked or not, not sure I copied it over correctly.

It seems to work fine at my end... loaded and upgraded then placed as is and it shows which means it is not the family but a project/model setting at your end.

Check the following link for the basic 33 reasons for things not being visible in model...list extended over the years but 90%  of the times it is one of those 33

Can't see it in the view? Here's 33 reasons maybe why - Revit Forum

How the family looks in the project at my end:

Accepted solution

Check Mechanical Equipment visibility of the elevation view.

By the way, it is a 'pure' Revit family, there is no CAD import in the family.
