Imported Categories Disappear When CAD Import is Removed

Traditionally, when importing CAD files into Revit, the imported categories stay in the Revit file even if the imported CAD is removed.

It appears like Revit no longer behaves this way and when I remove a CAD import, all the imported categories are deleted too.  

Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

I've never seen a deleted CAD Import leave anything behind unless a copy has been deleted or the import instance was exploded to smithereens.

Your subject says link but your message says import. They have always been removed when a link is removed.

Oops.  Yeah, I meant CAD imports.  @barthbradley is correct, as long as the import doesn't get exploded, you can remove it without issue.
