Import Sketchup Into Revit w/out Hidden Geometry Lines

I'm trying to import a Sketchup Model into Revit without showing the hidden geometry lines. I want to use the furniture model as a 3D model for when I render, as well as a floor plan symbol. I want to be able to hide the hidden geometry lines on plan view. Is there a way to do this? I have read numerous threads and no one has given an answer yet.

I tried creating separate layers in Sketchup, however, the hidden line layer will not turn off when I go to object style and/or visibility graphics.

You may not be able to get rid of them. If the surface is faceted because of the nature of the form then it will remain when the surface is created in Revit. An image of what you're working with would help confirm that...possibly.

I have a similar problem I want to import a sketchup model and hide the unnecessary edges

caused by triangulation. I put all these on a separate layer but they cant be switched off inside Revit.

how could this be solved?

many thanks,

Is it a direct import from Sketchup?

If so, try a export to 3D dwg without the "sketchup lines" and only the faces, see if that helps.

Result depends on sketchup model.

Yes I tried it that way too but the lines still show up.

If you open the DWG in AutoCAD, can you select lines?

If so delete them and then link the DWG.

Also, for what type of view mode do you need it. With rendering the lines won't show.

My export file has litterally thousands of lines, not feasable.
